We've done it. The best place to pick up the trail is past the last enramada on Las Gatas beach, Armando's if I remember correctly. It's a gradual uphill walk, mostly on concrete. There's a gate, but you can walk around it. Figure 15-20 minutes for the hike up. The view from the lighthouse is spectacular. There are, as you might expect, no services up there, so take a water bottle.
